in anticipation of screenings of “heima” on the sundance channel this month - there is a minisite on the channels website that has a band interview and various videos from “heima”. (more heima screening info here)

reviews

the first part of the bands summer tour ended a few days ago and we have put the setlists, pictures and reviews of the shows onto our tour archive page.

this part of the tour ended on a high at the latitude festival in england with astounding reviews. one setlist surprise over the tour was “hljómalind” (aka. rokklagið) in milan - the last time it was played live was in 1999)

missing crown

last weekend at the benicassim festival appearance in spain, orri’s fantastic crown went missing. if you have any information that would lead to the crown being returned to the band then please contact us. a reward is offered to whomever helps get it back.

latitude festival competition

on sigurros.com there is a competition open to win three pairs of vip weekend camping tickets for the latitude festival this weekend (17th - 20th of july) in suffolk, england. the competition closes tonight at midnight uk time.

concert update

an extra date in london in november (the 21st in alexandra palace) has been added - presale begins on monday morning at 10am local time. also, the presale for the november concert in madrid has started and we have added ticket information for the three japanese concerts in october. all information is on our tour page.

með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust has been selling well worldwide, placing in the following chart positions in its first week of release: #5 in the uk, #15 in usa, #1 in iceland. the band’s last album, takk…, placed #16 in the uk and #27 in the us.

denver presale

i don’t think we’ve done this before: but here is a fan presale for the red rocks concert in denver, colorado on september the 27th. the presale password is “sigurros”.

shows + screenings

two more shows have been added to the bands schedule in europe. on august the 23rd the band visit estonia for the first time, and on november the 17th the band play in amsterdam. more information about these shows are on our tour page.

also “heima” is scheduled to get lots more screenings this summer worldwide. in july the documentary will be screened on the sundance film channel in america several times. in hong kong on the 4th of july the chinese sigur rós fansite will host a screening and it will also be screened at the transmission festival in austria on july the 6th. full details of these events (and all the other summer screenings of “heima” around the world) are available here.

náttúra concert webcast

on saturday 28th of june ghostigital, ólöf arnalds, sigur rós and björk will be performing live in reykjavík. this concert, to help raise environmental awareness, will be broadcast live on the national geographic website. for further information about this webcast please have a look at the national geographic page for the event. in september and october the band will tour the united states, canada and japan. starting in new york city in mid september and finishing in tokyo on the 26th of october. the full list is here.

tijuana concert cancelled

sigur rós have had to cancel their appearance in tijuana, mexico, that was scheduled to take place on the 8th of june. further information will be announced today. apologies to everyone for any inconvenience caused.
